Bardarash Refugee Camp is home to Syrian refugees fleeing the war in Syria and the constant attacks by Turkish terrorist groups. There are currently about 3,500 individuals living in the camp and they have been living here since 2019.

Latter-day Saint Charities (see our logo on the left part of the entrance) built the medical center in the camp and has also supplied the equipment and medicines needed.

This is Dr. Shaho who is a dentist and also manages the facility. He drives here every day from Erbil, which is about a 1.5 hour commute each way.

Jim and Barbara with Dr. Shaho inside the camp clinic.

We gifted this little girl, who was waiting for her mother, one of the bears that volunteers in Georgia and Arkansas made and donated for distribution to refugee and Kurdish children.

Another happy bear adoption.

Happy bears and happy children!

Word soon got out and little children came eagerly looking for a bear to adopt...

The bears made their day!

Happy moms, bears, and children!

Waiting to be seen by the doctor and happy to get a bear.

We tried to get a photo of each bear as they were adopted into their families 🤗

One of the nurses asked for a bear for her niece... we are sure it is going to a happy little girl.

Happy refugee children with their new bears...

One of the clinic observation rooms.

This is the "waiting room" where over 125 persons, on average, show up each day in need of medical attention.

The picture says it all.

Happy girl with her new friend.

Waiting to see the doctor...
Again you can see the Latter-day Saint Charities logo together with the logo of the Barzani Charity Foundation (BCF). BCF manages the camp and is our local partner in many humanitarian projects.

Happy adopted bears and happy children 🤗🤗

Dr. Shaho with a dedicated lady dentist who comes in everyday to take care of refugee dental needs.

The doctors' white lab coats have the LDSC and BCF logos.

The medical clinic's pharmacy... all medicine is provided by LDS Charities.

Jim giving bears to children.

Both young and slightly older children asked to adopt a bear.

Yet another happy bear adoption.

Jim and Barbara with Dr. Shaho, who was excited to take a few bears to his nieces and nephews...

These two pictures are our little friendly army of Dolls of Hope bears made and provided to us from volunteers in Georgia and Arkansas. They are excited to meet their new children in Kurdistan, Iraq!

Happy bears ready for adoption. A heartfelt THANK YOU to all the volunteers who made them for the children living in Kurdistan who are welcoming them with open arms!

Happy bears in happy arms.
