Bardarash Refugee Camp is home to Syrian refugees fleeing the war in Syria and the constant attacks by Turkish terrorist groups. There are currently about 3,500 individuals living in the camp and they have been living here since 2019. Latter-day Saint Charities (see our logo on the left part of the entrance) built the medical center in the camp and has also supplied the equipment and medicines needed. This is Dr. Shaho who is a dentist and also manages the facility. He drives here every day from Erbil, which is about a 1.5 hour commute each way. We gifted this little girl, who was waiting for her mother, one of the bears that volunteers in Georgia and Arkansas made and donated for distribution to refugee and Kurdish children. Another happy bear adoption. Happy bears and happy children! Word soon got out and little children came eagerly looking for a bear to adopt... The bears made their day!
